I handcut each of my stones and then hand-craft my jewelry to accentuate the natural beauty of the stone. Each stone is cut and then put through an exhaustive shaping, trimming and polishing process to get the most beautiful stone possible. Once the stone is completed, I handwrap each setting to fit the stone so that each piece of jewelry is made for that particular stone. Everyone of my stones is unique. You will never find two stones that are exactly alike. So you're piece is unique as you are.
This pendant is made from the lovely, clear, blue turquoise stone known as Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. It definitely has the beautiful, light blue color of Sleeping Beauty. I decided to accent this particular pendant very simply with two crimped and crossed pieces of sterling silver wire. I love the clean simplicity of this pendant. It would make a great gift for a man or a woman or even a child who loves the majestic bear!
All my stones are backed in hard, black epoxy for stability and strength.

SLEEPING BEAUTY TURQUOISE
Sleeping beauty turquoise can be found in the southwestern part of the United States in Arizona. The highly sought after stone has made a tremendous impact on the history of turquoise over the years. The stone got its name because the mountain where it is mined resembles a sleeping woman laying on her back with arms crossed.
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is revered and highly sought after due to its pure sky blue color which shows very little to no veining or webbing. It is still being collected from the Sleeping Beauty Mine in Globe, Arizona where a small operation of workers mines, processes and ships the stones. The famous Sleeping Beauty Turquoise was actually discovered by accident. The mine was opened to pull copper and gold and it wasn’t until relatively recently that the first turquoise stones were discovered. Even in rough form, the stones are vibrant and bright, even more blue than the bright Southwestern sky overhead. It is one of the most prized forms of turquoise for jewelry and adornment and is often stable enough to be polished and used for turquoise jewelry without any treatment or stabilization. It’s pure color and natural strength make Sleeping Beauty Turquoise characteristics a favorite for jewelry makers and artists around the world.Today, retailers, wholesalers and the public visit the mine to get their hands on the beautiful stone, and if turquoise history is any indication, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise won’t be around forever. The current turquoise mining in Arizona produces enough stones to meet commercial demand. Many of the most famous Southwestern turquoise mines have depleted their supply and ceased operation. The history of turquoise is ever changing as mines open, close and new types of turquoise are discovered. To this day, however, there has never been a stone that replicates the stunning beauty of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. It is truly a gem of the Southwestern United States.

Yes, I do custom orders! Click on the Custom Order Request link on the home page or in any one of my listings. I'll let you know if I have those stones. I have LOTS of inventory but not all of it is listed so it's very possible that I may already have what you are looking for.
With any custom request, please provide exact dimensions (length, width, thickness and shape). Pictures are encouraged and welcomed as it makes the custom cutting process much easier.
Yes, all my cabochons are american-made. A majority of my stones are mined in the American West--Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. I cut all my stones in my home shop here in sunny Florida.
My stones are very sturdy. They are all backed with a hard black epoxy that increases their strength and stability, but they will crack and break if dropped on a hard surface such as tile or concrete. They are very tough when it comes to setting and bezeling them but don't play catch with them ;)
Yes, I can cut different shapes than those I have listed. Please click the Custom Order Rquest link on the home page or in any listing. Not everything is cuttable although I can generally make it work. I will let you know if I can do it and then give you an estimate on the project. For totally new shapes, there WILL be an additional "lapidary design fee" of $50 on the order. Sketches, drawings or pictures are encouraged. But exact dimensions are a must.
No, I do not do silversmithing. I do no bezel, inlay or solder silver or gold. But I do know many fine silversmiths who would like to help you with your silversmithing needs. Message me and will provide you with some names.
Yes! I have a huge inventory from years of stone cutting. Not all of it is posted in my store. Often I have more than one of the cabochons you are looking for.
Since we are dealing with natural rock they will not be exactly identical in color or matrix, but I can generally get pretty close. I do however have the same shapes in many different, stones colors and sizes.
If I don't have more in stock, I can generally cut what you want but for new cuttings I require a $60 minimum order.
Just click the Custom Order Request link, explain what you want with dimensions, stone type and look and I will give you a price quote.
Yes! I can make any of my stones into a pair of earrings or pendant. All of my shaped cabochons have this as an option for an extra fee.
If you wish to have a standard cabochon (square, oval, triangle, circle, etc.) made into jewelry, you would have to click the Custom Order Request button in the listing. I would then be able to give you a price quote.
Pair of earrings: Additional $25 (2 stones drilled with sterling silver eyehook, bail and french ear wires)
Pendant: Additional $15 (1 stone drilled with sterling silver eyehook and bail)
