I handcut each of my stones and then hand-craft my jewelry to accentuate the natural beauty of the stone. Each stone is cut and then put through an exhaustive shaping, trimming and polishing process to get the most beautiful stone possible. Once the stone is completed, I handwrap each setting to fit the stone so that each piece of jewelry is made for that particular stone. Everyone of my stones is unique. You will never find two stones that are exactly alike. So you're piece is unique as you are.
Tibetans revered the gemstone as a talisman of good fortune. To this day, turquoise remains to be the most prized gemstone in Tibet. The gemstone is known for its intense blue-green color and can be found in various shades of blue. The finest color is an intense blue that is uniform throughout the gem. The name turquoise is apparently related to the fact that is was brought to Europe from the Eastern Mediterranean by Levantine traders, more commonly known as Turks. Its been used as a valuable ornament for ages and was used by the Egyptians thousands of years ago. The color is, of course, turquoise, but its range of color varies from green and greenish blue to sky blue shades. For centuries, the most valuable turquoise came from Iran (Persia) but today some specimens mined in the southwestern United States compete with it. The name "Persian Turquoise" is now generally used to refer to any turquoise stone that does not have the black or brown veining commonly found in turquoise mined in the United States and used in a style of jewelry created by the American Indians. The Aztecs mined turquoise in an area now known as New Mexico and a significant amount of turquoise comes from Arizona, California and Nevada in the United States.

Yes, I do custom orders! Click on the Custom Order Request link on the home page or in any one of my listings. I'll let you know if I have those stones. I have LOTS of inventory but not all of it is listed so it's very possible that I may already have what you are looking for.
With any custom request, please provide exact dimensions (length, width, thickness and shape). Pictures are encouraged and welcomed as it makes the custom cutting process much easier.
Yes, all my cabochons are american-made. A majority of my stones are mined in the American West--Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. I cut all my stones in my home shop here in sunny Florida.
My stones are very sturdy. They are all backed with a hard black epoxy that increases their strength and stability, but they will crack and break if dropped on a hard surface such as tile or concrete. They are very tough when it comes to setting and bezeling them but don't play catch with them ;)
Yes, I can cut different shapes than those I have listed. Please click the Custom Order Rquest link on the home page or in any listing. Not everything is cuttable although I can generally make it work. I will let you know if I can do it and then give you an estimate on the project. For totally new shapes, there WILL be an additional "lapidary design fee" of $50 on the order. Sketches, drawings or pictures are encouraged. But exact dimensions are a must.
No, I do not do silversmithing. I do no bezel, inlay or solder silver or gold. But I do know many fine silversmiths who would like to help you with your silversmithing needs. Message me and will provide you with some names.
Yes! I have a huge inventory from years of stone cutting. Not all of it is posted in my store. Often I have more than one of the cabochons you are looking for.
Since we are dealing with natural rock they will not be exactly identical in color or matrix, but I can generally get pretty close. I do however have the same shapes in many different, stones colors and sizes.
If I don't have more in stock, I can generally cut what you want but for new cuttings I require a $60 minimum order.
Just click the Custom Order Request link, explain what you want with dimensions, stone type and look and I will give you a price quote.
Yes! I can make any of my stones into a pair of earrings or pendant. All of my shaped cabochons have this as an option for an extra fee.
If you wish to have a standard cabochon (square, oval, triangle, circle, etc.) made into jewelry, you would have to click the Custom Order Request button in the listing. I would then be able to give you a price quote.
Pair of earrings: Additional $25 (2 stones drilled with sterling silver eyehook, bail and french ear wires)
Pendant: Additional $15 (1 stone drilled with sterling silver eyehook and bail)
