Large Green Blue Turquoise Cowboy Hat Pendant with Sterling Silver wire-wrap and magnetic black seed bead accented

Pendant Size: 40mm x 37mm x 3.5mm (1 5/8" x 1 1/2")
Drop Length: 37mm (1 1/2")
(25 carat)

This lovely pendant is cut from Morenci turquoise with a beautiful black matrix and just a tiny bit of shiny pyrite. I added the seed bead accent to create the normal band across the cowboy hat.

Would be a great gift for the lover of the old west as well as the "Mrs." of a cowboy. Or for the cowgirls at heart who love the wide open spaces and horses of the west!

I handcut each of my stones and then hand-craft my jewelry to accentuate the natural beauty of the stone. Each stone is cut and then put through an exhaustive shaping, trimming and polishing process to get the most beautiful stone possible. Once the stone is completed, I handwrap each setting to fit the stone so that each piece of jewelry is made for that particular stone. Everyone of my stones is unique. You will never find two stones that are exactly alike. So you're piece is unique as you are.

This pendant DOES NOT come with the chain in the picture. you will receive the pendant only.

ROCK FACTS:

MORENCI TURQUOISE

One of the most famous and well known American Turquoise mines is the Morenci Turquoise mine form Southern Arizona. This mine was a major producer of natural gemstones that were used commercially for years in predominately Southwestern and Native American Jewelry. The Morenci Turquoise mine was famous for its beautiful true blue Turquoise. Most of the material from this famous mine was a true blue. The mine is also famous for its beautiful Pyrite matrix which is one of the finger prints of the mine. Nothing is more beautiful then sky blue Turquoise with silver colored iron pyrite matrix, or the rare golden pyrite matrix in natural Morenci Turquoise. The mine produce a wide variety of Turquoise from clear sky blue to pyrite matrix material to spider web to aqua blue green stones. Throughout the years gems from this mine were a staple in American Indian Jewelry made by all tribes including Navajo Jewelry, Zuni Jewelry and more. When look at old pawn or vintage Turquoise jewelry you will find a ton of beautiful natural Morenci Turquoise. Today this beautiful classic Turquoise is hard to find. The mine has been closed for many, many, many years. Ultra highgrade material from this mine as with most mines was always scarce, and today is more rare than hens teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I do custom orders! Click on the Custom Order Request link on the home page or in any one of my listings. I'll let you know if I have those stones. I have LOTS of inventory but not all of it is listed so it's very possible that I may already have what you are looking for.

With any custom request, please provide exact dimensions (length, width, thickness and shape). Pictures are encouraged and welcomed as it makes the custom cutting process much easier.

Are you cabochons made in the USA?

Yes, all my cabochons are american-made. A majority of my stones are mined in the American West--Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. I cut all my stones in my home shop here in sunny Florida.

Care instructions

My stones are very sturdy. They are all backed with a hard black epoxy that increases their strength and stability, but they will crack and break if dropped on a hard surface such as tile or concrete. They are very tough when it comes to setting and bezeling them but don't play catch with them ;)

Can I request a special shape?

Yes, I can cut different shapes than those I have listed. Please click the Custom Order Rquest link on the home page or in any listing. Not everything is cuttable although I can generally make it work. I will let you know if I can do it and then give you an estimate on the project. For totally new shapes, there WILL be an additional "lapidary design fee" of $50 on the order. Sketches, drawings or pictures are encouraged. But exact dimensions are a must.

Do you do silversmithing?

No, I do not do silversmithing. I do no bezel, inlay or solder silver or gold. But I do know many fine silversmiths who would like to help you with your silversmithing needs. Message me and will provide you with some names.

Do you have more of this cabochon or in a different size?

Yes! I have a huge inventory from years of stone cutting. Not all of it is posted in my store. Often I have more than one of the cabochons you are looking for.

Since we are dealing with natural rock they will not be exactly identical in color or matrix, but I can generally get pretty close. I do however have the same shapes in many different, stones colors and sizes.

If I don't have more in stock, I can generally cut what you want but for new cuttings I require a $60 minimum order.

Just click the Custom Order Request link, explain what you want with dimensions, stone type and look and I will give you a price quote.

Can I get an individual stone made into earrings, a necklace or pendant?

Yes! I can make any of my stones into a pair of earrings or pendant. All of my shaped cabochons have this as an option for an extra fee.

If you wish to have a standard cabochon (square, oval, triangle, circle, etc.) made into jewelry, you would have to click the Custom Order Request button in the listing. I would then be able to give you a price quote.

Pair of earrings: Additional $20 (2 stones drilled with sterling silver eyehook, bail and french ear wires)

Pendant: Additional $10 (1 stone drilled with sterling silver eyehook and bail)

Eyehook only: Additional $5 (1 stone drilled with sterling silver eyehook)
