Blue Green Royston Turquoise Freeform Oval cabochons / backed
19mm x 9 mm x 3.5mm
13mm x 8mm x 4.5mm
11.5 carats (combined weight)
These two cabs are cut from some exquisite Royston turquoise out of Nevada. I paired these two together because I thought the contrast of the lighter blue went well with the deeper green. These would make a great pair of rings!
All my cabochons are backed in hard, black epoxy for stability and strength.

Royston Turquoise is unmistakable in Jewelry; it can be detected by its bold color variations. Often you will see blue with dark blue areas or light green with clouds of dark greens and the ultimate is beautiful blue with emerald, green areas and a golden-brown matrix in unique patterns.
Jewelers love making Royston Turquoise Jewelry as their imagination goes wild creating designs to accommodate the splendor of the beautiful Turquoise. Today jewelers use all types of Royston Turquoise in their jewelry and make blue Royston Turquoise Jewelry, green Royston Turquoise jewelry, and "Boulder or Ribbon" turquoise jewelry.
Royston Turquoise comes from the Royston mining district located near Tonapah, Nevada. "Royston Turquoise," originally consisted of four old turquoise claims: Bunker Hill, Easter Blue, Oscar Wehrend, and Royal Blue. Lynn Otteson moved to Tonopah to mine Royston Turquoise in 1958 and the family has been mining Turquoise at Royston and throughout the area since.
The Royston Hills have a historic past for being one of the top Turquoise producing locations in Nevada. Turquoise from this area has spectacular color variations and has even been named Blue Gem in the past – Tonopah Blue Gem! Many people call Royston “Nevada Green Turquoise” and there have been many other nick names for it in the past, however, the underlying factor is the Royston Turquoise Mine in the Royston Hills of Nevada is one of the best producing mines of high-grade natural Turquoise in the United States.

Yes, I do custom orders! Click on the Custom Order Request link on the home page or in any one of my listings. I'll let you know if I have those stones. I have LOTS of inventory but not all of it is listed so it's very possible that I may already have what you are looking for.
With any custom request, please provide exact dimensions (length, width, thickness and shape). Pictures are encouraged and welcomed as it makes the custom cutting process much easier.
Yes, all my cabochons are american-made. A majority of my stones are mined in the American West--Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. I cut all my stones in my home shop here in sunny Florida.
My stones are very sturdy. They are all backed with a hard black epoxy that increases their strength and stability, but they will crack and break if dropped on a hard surface such as tile or concrete. They are very tough when it comes to setting and bezeling them but don't play catch with them ;)
Yes, I can cut different shapes than those I have listed. Please click the Custom Order Rquest link on the home page or in any listing. Not everything is cuttable although I can generally make it work. I will let you know if I can do it and then give you an estimate on the project. For totally new shapes, there WILL be an additional "lapidary design fee" of $50 on the order. Sketches, drawings or pictures are encouraged. But exact dimensions are a must.
No, I do not do silversmithing. I do no bezel, inlay or solder silver or gold. But I do know many fine silversmiths who would like to help you with your silversmithing needs. Message me and will provide you with some names.
Yes! I have a huge inventory from years of stone cutting. Not all of it is posted in my store. Often I have more than one of the cabochons you are looking for.
Since we are dealing with natural rock they will not be exactly identical in color or matrix, but I can generally get pretty close. I do however have the same shapes in many different, stones colors and sizes.
If I don't have more in stock, I can generally cut what you want but for new cuttings I require a $60 minimum order.
Just click the Custom Order Request link, explain what you want with dimensions, stone type and look and I will give you a price quote.
Yes! I can make any of my stones into a pair of earrings or pendant. All of my shaped cabochons have this as an option for an extra fee.
If you wish to have a standard cabochon (square, oval, triangle, circle, etc.) made into jewelry, you would have to click the Custom Order Request button in the listing. I would then be able to give you a price quote.

Pendant: Additional $15 (1 stone drilled with sterling silver eyehook and bail)
